Best Hikes by Cape Cod's Towns
Morris Island Trail- Chatham
_Morris Island is a short leisurely walk that offers a glimpse at the various habitats of Cape Cod. It is also the only part of the Monomoy National Wildlife Refuge that is assessable without the use of a boat. Start in a forest rich in Sassafras and Arrowwood and carry onto the beach lined with various terns and gulls. Continue onto the marshlands where sea lavender thrives and finally to the ocean copious with stripped bass. You may even get to spot a Great White shark fin from the beach, as they come here to feed on the gray seals that are abundant in the surrounding area. |
